Saw on the Today Show this morning, that the Powerhouse Museum's collection in storage is going to be open to the public this weeked. And among the items shown was Nikki's dress (and I think I saw shoes in the cabinet as well) from the opening ceremonies.

Sounds cool I may as well check it out next week, and see what they've got.  I'll take my camera too, because it also looks like they've got a good collection of cars and planes, and maybe some other good stuff.

But its definetly likely the dress is there in the storage.  My uncle works at the power house museum and I'm sure he mentioned that they have the dress in storage.

Yeah I remember going there with you Erin we searched the whole museum and then the lady said it wasn't currently on show. :-p

Here is the dress on the museum's database and the info, and if you look at all 5 images there is also her towel and the pink shoes! Pretty cool but I would have thought that would be something Nikki would have liked to have kept, but it's nice of her to donate it to the museum (if she did) as it's a piece of Australian history.

hehehe well I read through it and it says that the dress is a prototype  shocked  Nikki did wear that dress but she didn't wear that one to the olympics, and the dress was donated to the power house museum by the sydney olympic community as part of history.

So there is a chance that Nikki may still have the actual dress she wore to the olympics.

Prototype Tongue HAH  cheesy

I spoke to james last weekend and he told me that there are two of Nikki's dresses on display.  There is one dress in a cabinet, and one on a manican up in the air.  Sounds pretty intense Smiley

Anyway too bad it won't be open again until the 14th of april.

As Matt said, I sent to the exhibit last Saturday. I took a few pics, but they didn't turn out so great, because of the flourescent lights in the warehouse.

1. The Dress and hair ribbon
2. The Shoes
3. Info for the mannequin
4. Mannequin suspended from the roof with costume

I went there about a week ago and it was pretty amazing to see the dress.  It was alot pinker than I thought it would be.  Very bright pink.  It was made in france, and they also display what size the dress actually is, and i'm quite surprised at the size.

But yeah very interesting, I've got some pics but james has pretty much already posted them up.
